Recipe for a cold winter's night!

This is so easy to make and tastes great on a cold winter's night. Made in my kitchen favorite...the crock pot.

Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (can be frozen)
2 Tbsp butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 cans chicken broth
Tbsp minced onion flakes (you can use chopped fresh onions if you prefer...I say "yuck!" to that)
Pepper to taste
3-4 carrots, sliced thin
3-4 stalks celery, chopped
6 Grands brand homestyle biscuits, cut into bite sized pieces and dipped in flour

Place 1st 8 ingredients in the crock pot and stir. Cover and cook on high 5-6 hours. One hour before serving, shred the chicken and add the biscuits. Cover crock pot and cook for one more hour.

  1. Chicken and dumplings is one of my husband's favorite meals, but I have always been scared to make it. (Hard to compete with the mother in law.) This looks really easy and do-able. Looking forward to a cold night to try it out.
